We begin our day by stopping at Goðafoss waterfall on our way to Lake Myvatn. Goðafoss plays an important role in the Icelandic history, particularly in connection with the introduction of Christianity. We keep on going to the pseudo-craters of Skútustaðagígar before we continue to the mystic Dimmuborgir (Dark Cities) full of lava-pillars and formations that are rich of mystic sagas and tales. We come to the warm underground river in Grjótagjá rift and head to the geothermal Mt Námafjall. Krafla volcano area is our next destination in this tour and we drive past the power station bearing the same name that relies on geothermal steam energy for its operation. We then come to the explosion crater Víti that was formed in 1724 in the Myvatnseldar eruption before returning back to the main road.
Late afternoon, enjoy visit to Myvatn Geothermal Baths.
The water supplies for the lagoon run straight from the National Power Company´s bore hole in Bjarnarflag
The water has a temperature of about 130°C when it arrives to the huge basin beside the lagoon itself forming an impressive, man-made hot spring. Altogether, the lagoon and the basin contain around 3.5 million litres of water with a temperature of 36 – 40°C.
The two steam baths are built straight on top of a geothermal area and the sulphurfree steam rises up through holes in the floor. Typically the temperature is around 50°C and the humidity is close to 100%. Guests can take a few turns in the steam baths and cool down in the outdoor shower in between.
If you are lucky the Northern Lights will start to dance above you while bathing.
After local dinner you will be picked up by local guides for your northern Lights Super jeep safari tour, and driven out to the countryside or up to the mountains, into the dark, frozen winter night to observe an unbelievable display of color, light and texture is like waking up in a fairy-tale full of mystery and magic.

Private Caving
Caving in Iceland is a dark, strange and unique experience. You literally walk into a world that once was glowing hot and bright but now is frozen black. In winter you even have ice stalagmites that can give the adventurer an otherworldly feeling. Our lava caves are like veins of the volcanoes as molten lava flows through lava fields and forms these tunnels. When the volcano sleeps again it leaves behind empty shells that turn into an exciting underworld of caves for us to explore. Our caving experience is special as we blend together a caving expedition and folklore, learning about the Elves or hidden people, ghosts, outlaws and other strange creatures of Iceland.
After our sightseeing we end the day in the famous Blue Lagoon.

The Blue Lagoon is a unique natural pool of mineral-rich geothermal water located in the middle of a lava field in the beautiful, unspoilt Icelandic wilderness.
