Day 9 - Shark Cage Diving Early Breakfast Meet your guide and transfer to Gansbaai for your Shark Cage Diving (weather permitting) Time to be advised as Shark Cage Diving is dependent on the weather. Please liaise with your guide. Early transfer to White Shark Projects in Kleinbaai. Enjoy a delicious continental breakfast and discuss current sightings, indemnities, wet suitsand equipment before heading off to board the custom built 36 ft, 4 tonne white shark dive catamaran–‘Shark Team’. Meet one of the intrepid skippers, a qualified paramedic, a Dive Master and the friendly crew and enjoy a short talk on shark anatomy and behaviour. You will hear how White Shark Projects works with the sharks in the area and how you will spend the next couple of hours diving and viewing these wondrous predators in their natural habitat. You are fully briefed on all procedures and the action begins as our crew ‘chums’ the cruise area and you wait with bated breath for your initial glimpse of the first shark fin. Sharks are usually wary at first and it is necessary to wait a while for them to settle before lowering the dive cage. The first guests enter the cage (takes 4 –5 people) and spend about 20 minutes face to face with the sharks! Enjoy topside viewing during your wait as shark activity is often close to the surface. In fact Great Whites are also known for their ‘spy hopping’ – breaching right out of the water in pursuit of prey! Topside viewing can yield a lot of those action shots! Further to the south, and to the far side of the mountain, lies False Bay, Hout Bay and the splendour of the South Peninsula as far as Cape Point.To the West, you will spot Robben Island -Cape Town's own Alcatraz -and the Atlantic breaking on the beautiful Cape West Coast, as famous for its icy water temperature as its mouth-wateringcrayfish. Then it's action time! Out the door for a 120mph/200kph freefall, falling about 25-30 seconds from 9,000ft or for about 35-40 seconds from 11,000ft.
