We are somewhat skewed, it is true, but we cannot think of a better place for your honeymoon or celebrate an anniversary than among the diversity of a safari in Africa, a truly unique destination that cannot be compared with any other place in the world.
When you have thought of making your Honeymoon Safari
The date of your honeymoon will determine our destination suggestion, so normally the date of your link will affect where it is better to travel. As a general rule, it is possible to make a honeymoon in South and East Africa between June and October, the rest of the year depends on the weather, but we can advise you.
What Style of Honeymoon Safari You Are Looking for – Adventure or Luxury
Some of the destinations we work with, and some parks in these destinations, specialize in adventure honeymoon Safari Travel. Zambia is a good example, a country where the safari experience is the main focus (without spas or private pools), instead of the luxury offered by other destinations such as South Africa. We suggest that you talk to us before deciding as there are always nuances. However, we usually recommend northern Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa for honeymoon safaris with a level of comfort and exceptional luxury. If you are finding something more adventurous, our suggestion would be the east and south of Tanzania, Zambia and also Botswana.
An Authentic Safari Experience
A controversial issue. The usual thing is that, when choosing a camp or lodge for your honeymoon, the more luxurious the accommodation, the less authentic the safari experience. Although this rule can not be applied everywhere, today there are extremely luxurious camps in the most remote and wild areas. However, if you are looking for a truly authentic experience during your time in Africa, we recommend Botswana, Tanzania, and Zambia.
Duration of the Safari during your Honeymoon
Most travelers who choose Africa for their honeymoon do so for the possibility of safaris, so they tend to spend half their stay (a week or more) on the savanna. Most of the countries we work with are ideal for a safari of this duration although South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania are usually our suggestions.
How Much Does a Honeymoon Safari Cost?
The budget is the most important part to choose a honeymoon destination. Although you can travel to any of the countries with which we work with any budget, we sincerely believe that if you have allocated an amount for the trip, some destinations are better than others to spend the money.
Sample itinerary for your honeymoon in Africa
We recommend that you take a couple of days to relax at the beginning of your trip. The Safari Travel days start very early, and if you want to take advantage of the experience, they will get you out of bed at 5 in the morning. From our experience, we know that it is not the best way to start the trip after a long flight and weeks planning the wedding. A couple of nights at the beach or in a lodge that is not necessarily a safari is the best way to start your honeymoon. Most of our clients spend between five and six nights in safari, a longer stay can be too much, and for that reason to safari lovers we recommend combining camps in different habitats and with different experiences and fauna. The motive is to find the perfect balance.
