It is very difficult to go on a budget and stay in more paradisiacal places for more than two weeks. Obviously, if you have a lot of money saved (and want to spend it in Fiji), you can afford to go for a month or more. You will not miss beautiful places!
Honeymoon destination in Fiji is full of incredible corners, yet many of them are not easily accessible. The two most popular tourist islands and known for their beaches are: Mamanucas and Yasawas Islands. Ideally, you could go through both. Even if it is to know two islands of each one.
If you are looking for amazing beaches with palm trees and crystal clear waters, you have to visit the Yasawas archipelago. There are 20 islands located northwest of Viti Levu, the main island (4 hours by ferry).
There are multiple accommodations, and for all tastes. There are both five-star hotels and backpackers hostels. However, even the most precarious accommodations are expensive compared to those on the main island.
One of the things we recommend you do only if you are staying in Nadi is tour the Garden of The Sleeping Giant. It is a very nice garden that has a great variety of native plants and trees. It stands out above all for its varied collection of orchids. The path to travel it is surrounded by very jungle nature.
If due to lack of time or money you have to choose between one or the other, we recommend that you choose the Yasawas. Although it is a more expensive archipelago and away from the main island, its beaches are more unspoiled and impressive. It is also worth staying a night or two on Viti Levu.
What is the best time to travel to Fiji?
In Fiji it’s hot all year round. And the temperature rarely drops below 24° C. However, it does have a rainy season and cyclones that it is preferable to avoid. This lasts from October to April approximately, and is when there is more humidity and heat.
For this reason it is advisable to go between May and September, and thus avoid cloudy days and storms. Obviously flights to honeymoon destinations in Fiji are much cheaper in the rainy season. And that is why it is sometimes worth risking going in months like March, April or October. But going in January or December have a greater risk.

As there are so many islands to visit, it is worth constantly moving around. The islands are small (except for the main island) and two whole days is more than enough time to visit each one.
Always opt for public transport
A good way to cut costs in Viti Levu is by always taking public transport. Not that taxis are priceless, but public transport is very cheap and works well.
